Monty Darryl Montegut, age 72, a native of New Orleans passed on Saturday, April 19, 2014. As a young man, Monty proudly served his country in the US Army with the 82nd Combat Engineers in Germany. He went on to become a successful entrepreneur and founded several family businesses. He also served as President of Terry Harbor Civic Association in Springfield, LA where he resided with his wife. His passions in life included working, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Loving husband of Charlotte Pepin Montegut. Cherished father of Leslie Montegut Duhon, Michele Montegut Gallo (Bryan), and Scott Michael Montegut. Devoted grandfather of Joshua Ryan Duhon and Sydney Amber Duhon. Also survived by his best buddies BooBoo and Sing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 12 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Louis #3 Cemetery. -
